Outgoing Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso, has decided to skip his vacation to start work at Spanish LaLiga giants, Real Madrid.
Alonso had a few days ago announced his departure from Leverkusen at the end of the 2024/25 season later this month.
The 43-year-old has agreed to a three-year deal with Real Madrid to become their new head coach.
The former Real Madrid midfielder will replace current manager Carlo Ancelotti at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ancelotti is to become the head coach of the Brazil national team in the coming weeks.
However, according to @COPE on X, Alonso has finally decided to skip his vacation to start work at Real Madrid as soon as possible.
The Spaniard plans to immediately join the Los Blancos to help the team prepare for the FIFA Club World Cup starting in June.
During his playing days as a professional footballer, Alonso played for the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Socieded and Real Madrid.
