Former Liverpool player, Danny Murphy, praised Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes, saying he is the best attacking midfielder in Europe.
He thinks the Portuguese completed a great performance against Tottenham in the Premier League over the weekend.
On BBC’s Match of the Day, Murphy said that Fernandes came back from one of his worst games last week against Fulham in a really good way.
He said that the Portuguese midfielder’s ability to perform well in important games shows how good he is.
He said via Metro, “Bruno scored a great goal with a fantastic finish and had an excellent game overall, especially since he had one of his worst performances the week before.
“I played the game against Fulham, and he didn’t perform as well as usual. Right now, he’s probably the best number 10 player in Europe.”
Murphy also praised Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick, saying that the Englishman has had one of the best starts in the league.
He thinks the players are also having fun playing football.
“It will be really tough to keep up with these numbers; these are amazing numbers.
“He’ll be a lot happier when he sees them after ten games, let’s say, but he can’t have asked for a better beginning.
“They are playing great football, the fans are happy and supporting, the players seem sure of themselves and are having fun. Not fun, is it?”
Manchester United have won all four of their games under Carrick since he took over as manager from Ruben Amorim last month.
