In today’s globally evolved world, where women seem to be getting on board in different spheres of life and institutions, proving to the world what a difference their significant turn up and touch can make on every level, be it tech, finance, medicine and the whole body of STEM. Young women have continuously changed the dynamics of how these organisations can strive to do better and higher with their skills and implementation. The data research carried out, and the empirical studies have proven that 75% of women handling significant positions in these organisations are doing well, and their leadership, salesmanship are top-notch over the course of the years. While in the past, women were seen to be taking the back and middle roles in politics. Women in politics are mostly underrepresented globally and in many nations, like Nigeria, facing obstacles such as1. political intimidation.2. lack of party support.3. social structures.4. Despite being nearly half the population, with international efforts pushing for greater inclusion and better governance through more diverse leadership. The lack of solidarity and support among women for female candidates has created an uneven playing field; instead of supporting their fellow women, they overlook the impact and changes that can be made through the voice of one of them at the helm of political leadership. There is joy to see that this generation of young women cannot be held back as they are seen gliding up the ladder of politics. Unlike in the past, where it seems only men are allowed to dominate the political seats. Over the years, studies have shown the increasing number of young women showing interest and wanting to know and be included in political affairs. Women, let us come together to campaign, advocate and support other women of light who want to make an impact and create a safe space for us and generations to come into the world of politics. I hereby beseech parents, brothers and uncles who have young, vibrant daughters, sisters and nieces whose aspirations are to go into politics, not to chastise, discourage, and neglect their interests. Instead, encourage them, teach and guide them, we need every hand on the desk who has a passion for politics to make an impact for good governance. Remember, a nation with good governance makes its masses wake up each day with new dreams and the assurance of achieving them. What is your perception about women going into politics?.
Women in politics are mostly underrepresented globally and in many nations, like Nigeria, facing obstacles such as
1. political intimidation.
2. lack of party support.
3. social structures.
4. Financial hurdles.
5. lack of solidarity.
This again has raised the bar for women successfully taking charge and control of their destiny and narratives. The constant efforts put together to make impacts and create changes in the men’s narratives that not only can she run a home successfully as a woman, but she can also run an organisation effectively, contributing to the growth of the economy and also making impacts for good governance where the rights of women are upheld and recognised.
For these young, vibrant and ambitious women to keep gliding up into the seats of politics, I will state a few key points that will enable and encourage them not to fold up in their political race and continue to be the women of light other generations need.
1. Unwavering solidarity
2. Granting financial aid
3. Validation of their right to speak and be taken seriously.
4. Cultural supports.
5. Party support.
These are just a few points to encourage them to keep their desire and fire burning for their political interests.
