Nigeria midfielder Joe Aribo is on his way out of Sky Bet Championship club Southampton, Urban Express News reports.

Aribo is pushing to leave St Mary’s Stadium following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season.

The 29-year-old has played for Southampton in the Championship in the past, and is not willing to have a similar experience again.

The attacking midfielder was left out of the Saints opening fixture of the season against Wrexham on Saturday.

Aribo has been linked with Aston Villa, Villarreal, and Red Bull Salzburg.

He joined Southampton from Scottish Premiership club Rangers three years ago.
