The versatile midfielder equalled Shola Ameobi’s record of 298 matches.
The 28-year-old is now running for the all-time appearance record.
Iwobi, who started his Premier League sojourn with Arsenal, has also played for Everton.
Behind Iwobi and Ameobi in the all-time Nigeria Premier League appearances list are Nwankwo Kanu (273), Yakubu Aiyegbeni (252), and John Mikel Obi (249).
