Aftermath of the abduction of over 170 church members in the Kajuru area last week, the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has cautioned “conflict merchants” and “political opportunists” to desist from exploiting the suffering of the people in the state
Governor Uba Sani gave the warning during his visits to Kurmin Wali in Kajuru Local Government Area to get first-hand information about the incident.
According to him, action of rumour mongers have undermined unity, weakened trust, and emboldened criminality in the state in recent times.
He wrote on his verified Facebook page:
In keeping with our constitutional duty to protect lives and property, I have formally briefed His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the situation. I also held strategic engagements with the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd). I received firm assurances that all necessary measures are being deployed to secure the release of our people. I further advocated for the establishment of a permanent military base in Kurmin Wali to strengthen security in the community and surrounding areas.”
He said further, “I thank the people of Kurmin Wali for their resilience, restraint, and confidence in government at this difficult moment.”
The governor reaffirmed that Kaduna State remains one indivisible family, united beyond ethnic or religious lines.
“ Our administration will continue to pursue peace, security, and inclusive development. In the coming weeks, construction will commence on a link road and a healthcare centre to improve access and enhance the well-being of the community,” he wrote.
