Former Chelsea star, Claude Makelele, says that Moises Caicedo is different from superstar midfielders such as John Obi Mikel, Michael Essien, Frank Lampard and Scott Parker.
According to Makelele, the Ecuadorian midfielder has something different from other players, predicting the former Brighton star will progress a lot at Stamford Bridge.
Caicedo left Brighton for Chelsea in 2023 and is now one of the top names at the west London club.
The South African defensive midfielder has often been compared with Makelele and Ngolo Kante.
Makelele told Tribal Football that Caicedo would become great at Chelsea and added that the player needs ‘proper leadership’ to flourish at Chelsea.
“I love the boy,” Makelele said. “I played with Michael Essien, Frank Lampard, (John) Obi Mikel, Scott Parker.
“I played with many good players, very good players. But this boy, he has something different. I think he will progress a lot.
“I will keep pushing him because I talk with him.”
Makelele wants the Ecuador international to create his own legacy at Chelsea.
Caicedo netted one of the goals as Chelsea beat West Ham United 5-1 at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Friday night.
