Former Aston Villa captain, Gabriel Agbonlahor, has suggested that Liam Delap should have joined Everton instead of Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Recall that Chelsea signed Delap from £30m Ipswich Town a few months ago.
“I am not sure about Liam Delap at the moment,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.
“I think he might have missed the trick of going to a lesser club before Chelsea. I don’t think he is going to get the game time in this Chelsea squad.
“Could he have gone to an Everton first, got 15 to 20 goals there and then made the jump to Chelsea?”
Delap has so far struggled with fitness issues since moving to Stamford Bridge.
The Englishman is yet to be in top form for Enzo Maresca’s side this term.
