Ogun State police command has confirmed the death of an 80-year-old trader, identified as Ladan Bature, who was fatally stabbed during an argument at the Kara Cattle Market, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said the deceased was stabbed with a knife in front of the Kara Market mosque by one Haiye Aginni on Monday.
Odutola noted that despite efforts by residents and traders to rush him to the hospital, Bature succumbed to the injury.
Following the report to the Ojodu Abiodun Police Division, detectives swiftly took action and arrested the suspect.
She noted that the corpse was deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital morgue in Sagamu for preservation and autopsy.
Odutola said, “Following the report to the Ojodu Abiodun Police Division, detectives swiftly took action and arrested the suspect.
“Bature’s body has been deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital morgue in Sagamu for preservation and autopsy.”
She stated that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
