Santos forward, Neymar Jr, received a second booking for a blatant handball as they lost 1-0 to Botafogo on Sunday.
Neymar was shown the red card in the 76th minute of the Brazilian Serie A game.
The referee sent the Brazilian off after he punched the ball into the net from close range.
The goal was immediately disallowed, and Neymar was shown a second yellow card, much to the frustration of the home crowd.
It got worse for Santos, as Artur Guimaras scored the winning goal in the closing minutes for Botafogo.
Santos now sit in 18th place on the table after 11 fixtures.
Neymar has missed seven of those games due to injury and has yet to score or assist for the team.
This suspension is now set to further limit his game time.
