Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace have recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition in Plateau State following a raid on a suspected gunrunner’s hideout.According to a statement posted on its verified Facebook account on Friday, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer of the force, said the raid was carried out on 13th November 2025 in Fashoron Village, Daffo District of Bokkos Local Government Area.“The suspects fled before the troops arrived. But authorities recovered an AK-47 rifle with a magazine, a submachine gun, two Dane guns, 42 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 84 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and twenty cartridges. Six mobile phones and N330,000in cash were also seized,” the statement added.All recovered items are now in custody, while efforts continue to track down the suspects. Major Zhakom said the Joint Task Force remains committed to eliminating criminal elements in the area, particularly those involved in the illegal proliferation of weapons and ammunition.
