The spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Mallam Olawale Rasheed has urged opinion leaders and commentators to read the Court of Appeal judgement for unbiased opinion on the local government face off in the state.

This is as he referred the public to the legal opinion of Jubril Okutepa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.

Speaking while receiving members of the Osun Democratic Coalition in his office, the Spokesperson advised community leaders against speaking out of error, urging genuine lovers of democracy to read the judgment to affirm that there was no reinstatement order from the Court of Appeal.

“We encourage opinion leaders to read the judgement. Nowhere was a reinstatement order issued. Society elders should also read up the APP judgement which sacked the Yes/No Chairmen and the Court of Appeal ruling which struck out the APM/APC appeal. All details are in the public domain.

“Opinion leaders cannot afford to fall into errors. They need to know the issues before taking a position. This will reinforce their integrity and ensure they are not unconsciously enrolled into a school of falsehood.

“Hired commentators of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are free to continue their path of fake news. But society leaders must eschew such a route, lest they destroy their hard-earned credibility.

“For unbiased members of the public, we recommend the legal opinion of Jubril Okutepa, SAN. I listened to him and I was further educated.

“Countless listeners have testified to the soundness and correctness of the SAN’s explanation. I recommended Okutepa’s interview to genuine lovers of peace, freedom and democracy.

“For me, that judgment is in line with the decisions of the Supreme Court that at any particular time the Local Government must be democratically run and not with caretaker. I do not see how the judgment that commands obedience to constitutional provision can be described as cherry picking or illegal,” he said.

Jubrin Okutepa had in the interview maintained that no court ordered reinstatement of the council chairmen.
