No fewer than 30 people were feared killed, and many others kidnapped as armed men suspected to be bandits attacked a community in Niger State.The bandits, who were said to be operating from Kainji Lake National Park, reportedly attacked a village market in Kabe District, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, setting it ablaze.The criminals burned down the market and also looted food items and other wares.The assailants also reportedly shot at villagers and abducted many along paths leading to the expansive Kainji Lake National Park forest.The State Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, while confirming the incident, said a joint security team had visited the scene, and efforts were ongoing to rescue the kidnapped victims.“Over 30 victims lost their lives during the attack, and some people were also kidnapped,” Abiodun said.
